George Coley, Virtual Production Director
What is Virtual Production?
Virtual production merges real-time 3D environments with live-action using tools like Unreal Engine and LED volume screens.
Used extensively across Film, TV, and commercials (from The Mandalorian to The Batman), this technique creates immersive worlds in-camera, without the reliance on green screens and VFX.
Why use Virtual Production?
VP eliminates many filmmaking challenges: No weather delays, travel restrictions, location permits—overall, VP is very low risk.
The LED walls display the virtual environment around the set, giving actors and crew something authentic to play off. This allows for natural, instinctive performances and spontaneous creativity.
My VP Expertise.
I blend cinematic storytelling with virtual production technology to direct films, commercials, and game trailers.
The process starts with pre-vis, fully in-engine. On set, I seamlessly blend the live-action foreground with the virtual environment, so that through the camera the scene appears cohesive.

A Quiet Place - VP Project
The environment around the live-action actor was entirely virtual, rendered in real-time using Unreal Engine and an LED Volume screen.
The living room environment comes from the game, belonging to a key character in the story—blending reality with the game world.
